Murdoch tackles Dubai
by Wen Xing Ho
April 10, 2008
MURDOCH’S flash new study centre in Dubai will open its doors to WA expatriates, the university’s deputy vice chancellor has confirmed.
“Students can transfer between the Dubai and Perth campus,” Professor Gary Martin said. “It is an international experience that I hope the students take advantage of.”
The Arabian Gulf emirate of Dubai is one of the fastest growing cities on the planet. Murdoch’s new centre there will, from September 2008, offer five degree courses, namely media, mass communication, commerce, marketing and an MBA.
The courses will all be full fee paying.
“There is a strong demand for media people in Dubai,” Professor Martin said. “This new campus will provide a broader agenda to study Murdoch programs and enhance the international global outreach of Murdoch as an education provider.”
A Dean from the university’s Murdoch campus is currently being recruited to head the new centre.
