Nothing “special” for tenth Pinjarra Festival

THIS year marks the tenth anniversary of the Pinjarra festival, but time restrictions have forced organisers to forgo elaborate celebrations.
Festival co-ordinator Karen Camplin said her team was “more focused on the event, rather than the anniversary”.
“We just didn’t have time to arrange anything special,” she said.
Fortunately for the festival, one of its main attractions, the Alcoa-Pinjarra Cup, will be a part of this year’s festival. The cup is organised by the Pinjarra Harness Club, and takes place on Monday, June 2.
This will be the 55th running of the cup, entry is free and $30,000 prize money is up for grabs. The 2008 Pinjarra Festival runs from May 31 to June 2 in the town’s Edenvale Complex.
