Image - PosterAs millions of fans waited for the release of the controversial The Da Vinci Code movie, expectations and hype for the movie grew stronger and bigger.

However with negative reviews following the Cannes Film Festival, fans were let down to find out that the most anticipated movie of the year was an utter disappointment.

Critics were not the only the ones disappointed with the movie.

Andrea Santimano, a fan of the book says those who have read the book would expect more than those who have not.

“I read the book so I was disappointed. But no matter how bad the reviews are, fans of the book would still go and watch the movie just for the sake of it” she said.

Sashi Ranjendram, also a fan of the book says he was not impressed with the movie as well.

“It was a typical Hollywood movie with a good story but did not portray the characters as Dan Brown did in the book.” he says.

The movie and book revolves around a murder at the Louvre museum in Paris one night, leaving behind a mysterious trail of symbols and clues. Framed for the murder, Symbologist Professor Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) aided by the police cryptologist Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), unveils a series of stunning secrets hidden in the works of Leonardo Da Vinci, all leading to a religious mystery protected by a secret society for two thousand years which could shake the foundations of Christianity.
