  CANNABIS USE DECRIMINALISED IN WA

CHANGES to WA's cannabis laws mean small time users may not receive a criminal record, and may even be able to avoid a fine in exchange for attending an education session.

The new laws, which came into effect yesterday, state people over the age of 18, found in possession of as much as 30g of cannabis, can be issued with a Cannabis Infringement Notice (CIN) and fine at the discretion of police...... more information

CANNABIS use was effectively decriminalised in WA yesterday under controversial new laws.

The possession of small quantities of the drug for personal use will remain an offence and will continue to attract a fine, but offenders will not receive a criminal record...... more information
